We’ve previously the key attributes to remember when your dreams are dimming down. Here are 3 ways to push forth when your dream falls apart:
Remember 1: Keep In Mind The “Why”
Seeing and hearing the healing benefits of the music I write for other people to listen to? Now you’re expressing yourself. The element of my dream that keeps it alive is healing and assisting others. It gives me a sense of purpose in the world that extends beyond myself and my abilities.
Dreams, in everyone’s experience, frequently go beyond the simple goal of making someone happy. Being a songwriter, for example, does not make me happy or fulfilled in and of itself. Imagine writing music that no one would ever hear as my life’s job. That doesn’t make me feel happy or fulfilled in the least (at least to me).
Remember 2: Remove The Rose-Colored Spectacles
I’m sure you understand what I’m talking about. “I’m going to make it big” and “I’m going to be famous/rich/etc.” I’m sorry to poke you in the eye with a sharp, realistic needle, but I’m doing it out of love. It’s as follows:
Your dream will not be exactly what you’ve envisioned it to be.
Take a moment to let that sink in. Are you still here? Yes. Alive? Yes. Isn’t it true that you’re not bleeding? No? Did it make you feel a little nauseous?
It’s fine; We understand. We’ve been there before. Dreams are fragile. We’ve spent endless hours fantasizing about what it would be like and how we’d get there. However, in my experience, they have never turned out exactly how I had envisioned them. Why? We live in a world full of people and situations that we can’t control.
Remember 3: Make Your Dream A Reality
Treat your dream as if it were a job. As a result, develop a plan, show up every day, and be aware that results may take time to appear. Many of the songwriters I know composed hundreds of songs before writing a hit. They would not have gotten there if they had not taken the initial step, made a commitment, and written 100 songs first.
Dreams don’t just appear out of nowhere. They require effort. So, let’s get this party started!
