Do you really understand the bible quote, “Ask and you shall receive?” It’s actually very simple: you will just ask, believe and you shall receive. However, in a deeper context, it requires more. When you ask, it is natural for you to demand more and be impatient when you ask for things– you want things to go easy, and quick but, my dear friend, a blessing coming from God, is not rushed, hence, perfectly planned.
God and the Holy Spirit know what’s best for you; anything rushed in terms of ‘blessings’ means it’s not God’s will for you, but your will for yourself. The divine spirit’s plan is a perfect plan. Which leads us to the question, “How do you truly ask and receive?”
Pray. It is by far the most important ingredient in asking. Why? Prayer or praying is our only mode of communication to God and the Holy Spirit. The divine spirit intercedes our prayer and God hears it when we pray; we establish good communication to God and a healthy and alive relationship with the Holy Spirit.
So pray unceasingly, my dear friend.
Believe and Patience. Dear friend, this is one of our flaws. Yes, you pray but did you believe in that prayer you sent out to God, Holy Spirit, and the Universe? You doubted yourself for a second, didn’t you?
It’s common because humans are weak, easy to falter, and give in to the temptation of doubting the power of God, divine spirit, and the universe. Do not forget this my dear friend, believing encompasses faith and hope, so you must believe in the power of your prayers, and the power of Whom you are praying to. One thing that is as important as believing is being patient.
Patience is also a form of faith– it is your resilience while waiting for the things you hope and pray for. Do not forget to pray unceasingly, believe and be patient, and…
Receive with a grateful heart and mind. When you’ve prayed and waited with belief and patience, most likely, God will answer it in His perfect time. Remember this, He will give it when you need it, and you allow it. How do you allow it? How do you open the circle of miracles in your life?
Simple– receive but receive it with a grateful heart and mind. Gratefulness is a form of praise and worship when you are always thankful in all the circumstances in your life. The divine Holy Spirit allows the clogged river to flow unceasingly, thereby allowing the rich blessings of God and the Universe to overflow your life.

Give. When you give out from the blessings of God, whatever you give out, the universe will give it back. Dear friend, there is no cap in giving so learn to be generous without asking anything in return. The Holy Spirit will deem you worthy and give you what you deserve if you give without malice.
