The Holy Treatment of God: God’s Your Urgent Care

Previously we learned about what is trust and why it is fading, this story might help you recalibrate your trust.

The Holy Treatment of God

In Mark verse 5, we can see scriptures that are largely preached in the gospel: a flock of people crowded Jesus. People from different regions flocked and pushed forward to Him. In the flock of people was a woman who had been suffering chronic bleeding for over 12 years.

She had visited a lot of doctors and had expended all she had with treatments and procedures. Despite all that, instead of getting better, she became more ill. Due to the nature of her disease, she was considered impure or unclean according to the laws and traditions during the time. She was basically an outcast – sick and broke. But because of her confident faith in God, she was given the strength to ignore the pain for a brief period of time and took the risk that changed her life forever.

[27] “When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, [28] because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” [29] Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering. [30] At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”[31] “You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ” [32] But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. [33] Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. [34] He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”

Mark 5:27-34 NIV

God was her immediate or Urgent Care provider.

Change is constant and changing soamething new may be the last resort, especially if you are chronically ill or in the middle of long-standing life problems. For someone who is chronically ill. Though the woman in the story was anonymous, the story of her faith is quite unforgettable and should inspire us to never give up and give in life challenges. The woman took a bold risk and believed 100 percent in the power of God. The woman took all of her strength, stepped out of the dark, told who she was so that she would be able to be closer to God, then walked towards God.

When the road seems so long and tiresome, and sometimes our dreams are at the end of the road, this is the time to recalibrate and be closer to the Holy Spirit. During this trial time we tend to make things our way to the point that we miss the doors that the Holy Spirit is opening for us. This trial time could also be an opportunity for the Holy Spirit to work in our lives miraculously thus re-establishing our trust and faith in it.
